Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

Finally got around to changing some strings and getting some lemon oil on some boards. It was the first time in a long time I had the gang out so I took a couple of crappy phone pics.

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

Very nice "family shot"! Can you tell me more about the cherry sunburst Ibby? How about some more pics?

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

The Ibanez is an old 80's RS315 model. I bought as a project guitar as it was a bit worse for wear, big chunks of the dark red poly were missing off the back and sides, the top was scratched up and the frets were in pretty bad shape. Anyway, I carefully picked away at the poly on the back with a craft knife blade and once it was removed just sanded it and put a couple of coats of white stain. It didn't come out how I wanted it but I'll address that in the future. I took the body to a car body shop and had them gently mop the top until most of the scratches were gone. The frets I did myself and to be honest it now plays really well. I'll try and get some pics this coming weekend, it's nothing to sing and dance about but I'm pleased how it came out for how little I paid.

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

Nice Collection!!!

Didn't realize you had a Tyler...
:D
Yeah I've had it a while. I always wanted a BW and this one came up here so did a bit of dealing. It was number #4 built for NAMM 2000

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

I was wondering about the white back. It looks cool from here!

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

Cool! Do you use the same strings/tuning across the board or is there a different master plan?

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

A very nice herd with some lovely pieces. Still love the Wayne Tele and that Tyler is way cool.

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

love the tyler and the burst is a beautiful guitar!

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

Nice well rounded collection, not to mention your nice basses missing from the pic. Which guitars get the most play time?

Thanks, I'm just waiting to try the LP with my main amp this weekend now it's got the black bro with the A2!

Cheers Joe. Yeah I'm happy with this lot having sold off quite a few nice ones a couple of years ago. I guess a nice semi could be on the cards at some point. I left my acoustics and basses off as I was trying to watch the British F1 GP and rushing to get them back in their cases. Main player is still the Pagey, getting rather beat up now but it's still number 1. The Tyler comes next because it's super versatile and then literally any of the others. They do all get taken to gigs including the PRS but I'll admit to being more careful with it and the black LP. I'm as happy to gig the Gordon Smith SG or Ibanez as they all play and sound great.... But as I say old faithful will always get the first spot.

What's that PRS-looking one?

Inquiring minds would like to know. :cool2:

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

That's a 2005 20th anniversary Modern Eagle 1... My dream guitar.

Oh, I see. As I didn't know this particular model, I thought it was a luthier-made guitar, not a PRS.

Enjoy it in good health for many years to come!

Yours very truly,

Re: Did a bit of maintenance last weekend.

I'm going to ban you from putting up pics of that Wayne! :D
