Did I wire my 212 cab right?!?!?!

So last night I swapped out the 8 ohm speakers in my guitar cab with 16 ohms. I followed this diagram to wire it in PARALLEL.

I wired the speakers like it's shown.

Where the hell is the Tip on the jack socket?!?!?! I searched everywhere and could not find a diagram.

My am has one of these....

The jack sockets are mono and look like this.....

and this but with one more prong...

* I apologize for my crappy pic, but here's what the back panel looked like before....

yellow wires went to left speaker positive, green went to right speaker negative.

So what I did was wired it like this...

I only used one jack instead of 2. I don't plan on using an ext cab into my cab

with the green going to the positives of the speakers and red going to negatives.

It works, but I wanna make sure I did it right.

Confusing... I know. It works, I just wanna make sure I did it right. There's tons of schematics for wiring the speakers but none that show you detailed pictures of the jack socket

That drawing is not the way I'd do it but it should work perfectly.

The long flat piece about 1/4" wide of the jack is the "tip". Actually, it contacts the tip of the 1/4" plug that you plug into it.

The "ring" is the part that the mounting nut threads onto, and which the barrel of the 1/4" plug (not the tip) contacts when you insert the plug.

A brief visual inspection of the jack itself is enough to find which lug is which. Just "follow" the lugs and see what they link up to.

And if it has three lugs, it's a stereo jack, not mono.

Thank you. That's the description I was looking for. So it's fine how it's hooked up now or do I need to take it part to redo it.

Whenever there's a question, verify it by using a simple multi meter. DC resistance is one component of speaker impedance and speakers (and cabs) most commonly are either 4, 8, or 16 ohms impedance.

Place a speaker cable into the cab's jack and measure the DC resistance on the other end of the cable from barrel to tip. Reading should be: for 4 ohm impedance speaker, 2-3 ohms DC resistance; for 8 ohms, 5-7 ohms; and for 16 ohms, 10-13 ohms.
