Re: Did Seymour Duncan ever make a 'super distortion' pickup?
Distortion+ may be the oft repeated typo or misquote from Randy Rhoads interview about what SeymourDunc pickup is in his Jackson, which I happen to believe was the sh6 Distortion. I have both, I'll admit there may be some, SOME tonal overlap but the differences are significant, nay very mega ,especially on clean setting.
you're thinking of the JB+, also known as a distortion lite. basically it's a JB that people take and stick a standard sized ceramic in, as opposed to the double thick ceramic that comes standard in a duncan distortion.
specs-wise, the closest thing to a dimarzio super distortion from duncan would be the duncan custom. they're both 14~k pickups with ceramic magnets, but that's about it as far as similarities go.

Aye, me too but since I don't really have any interest in the JB, distortion or any combination of the two (yet) I didn't pay a whole lot of attention. It's what I was talking about I just couldn't remember the name. So when some guy posted this thread it sparked my memory of the name, that's all I meant.
Anyway, sorry to the OP for my forgetfullness causing such a huge derailment...
