Did Seymour supply?

Re: Did Seymour supply?

You guys are arguing over what body wood most of the focus' were made out of?

First off it's a toss up. They used whatever they had around or whatever was cheapest at the time.

The guy doesn't even have a dam Kramer yet, he's still looking!

I'm not by any means dissing the brand at all, but you never know exactly what it is until you have one in your hands.

Re: Did Seymour supply?

if the listing is all fact, I should be well pleased for the price!! I hope the stock pups are good cuz I cant afford to replace for awhile. When I get it, I can research the serial number. FWIW, the reviews at HC are all good for this model..

Nice score. That thing looks like it's in great shape.

Thanks! The photos are alil fuzzy, but the seller assured me via email that its nearly mint aside from one little ding and he says a very light scuff on the headstock . Hopefully its all true. Think the price is great considering it has a case too. Ill let you know when she arrives!!

Re: Did Seymour supply?

Dam nice score for that price! His story adds up. That one has the old skool Focus headstock and 1 pc. neck.

I'm curious to see if it has a cast neck plate or a stamped one.

To find out the body wood, you'll have to take the neck off of it.

So , I done good??

How can I tell by removing the neck? To actually view the wood?

Re: Did Seymour supply?

You done very good my man!

When you get it just take the neck off and look at the wood in the neck pocket.

if it has a reddish tint to it, it's alder,

If it looks whiteish, but kind of dirty it's poplar

If it's just white and a little bit of grain pattern showning and heavy as hell, it's maple!

Re: Did Seymour supply?

I'm right there with 9finger. You did damn good. Now, if I could find me an early 80's Baretta for that kind of price...LOL. I'll keep holding my breath. :D

2 years ago that probably would have been possible. Awhile back you couldn't give the fookers away, not even in pawn shops. Now that Ebay has gotten so big and internet access so widely available. Those days are long gone and prices will keep rising just like the old charvels.

You'd be lucky to find an 84-84 Baretta for $400 now.

Yeah, I know. At a time when they were a lot less and I didn't have a lot of money I couldn't find one or afford to. My '88 cost me $250 used in '95. I know I could easily make a profit on it but it's not leaving me. My wife won't even let me think about selling it. It's actually on the VintageKramer site gallery.
