Die Cast Strat Saddles v. Bent Steel

I have a Strat with 70's style die cast chrome saddles that has too much low midrange and not enough high and low end. Would things improve if I switched to bent steel saddles? What is the tonal difference between the stamped steel saddles and the die cast chrome saddles on Strats?

I'm by no means an expert on this but the bent steel saddles should give a bit more high end "sizzle".

It seems like it's really a matter of taste between heavy bridges and lightweight, resonant ones. If you're not digging the cast saddles, do some research on bridges that will be a direct fit to your guitar, but a different style. I'm starting to like big heavy bridges like the ones on G&L's, just because I like the notes real bold and sustaining. I just read a post by Lew about the difference between aluminum tailpieces and the Tonepros on Les Pauls. It's either a breathier resonant sound, or on the Tonepros, a much tighter bolder sustaining sound. I like either, depending on the guitar. To me, cleaner tones are better with a lightweight bridge, but heavy gain tones are better with a solid heavy bridge.

I think that about sums it up! :laugh2:
