Re: Diezel oversized 2x12 cab with Eminence speakers
I love the v12. This is trolling

I'll take my Celestions over any other 12" speaker I've ever owned. And I've owned a lot of 12" speakers: old Jensens, new Jensens, JBL's, Electro Voice, Emi's, etc. Celestions have been my go to 12" speakers for the last 40 years or more.
Only reason I can see to use anything other than Celestions is if you've just got to have something that's cheaper.
Just curious; I bought an oversized Diezel 2x12 cab years ago that came with Eminence speakers, but after looking at their website (back then), they're supposedly only loaded with Celestion V30's, and don't mention anything about Eminence speakers being an option. I was under the impression that V-30's were in there, but when the salesperson took off the back, they were Eminence speakers. To make a long story short, they sound like CRAP, just like the ones in Fender combos. Even the Soldano 4x12 loaded with Eminence speakers sounded like s**t compared to the Celestion-loaded cabs from the shootouts I've seen on YouTube. They sound muddy and like cardboard compared to the stock G12T-75's in my Marshall 4x12. Oddly enough, I've been seeing a lot of folks touting Eminence speakers on various websites, including this one. I''m eventually going to change the speakers in my Diezel cab, but to play it safe, I think I'll stick to Celestions.
This thread makes me lol.

2) your comparing a youtube clip to a live amp? An equally pointless excercise eve if it is one of the 1% actually recorded well.
3) you fail to mention what model of Eminence is in the cab.
In this Youtube shootout, my favorites were the Mesa and Orange, that happen to be Celestion loaded. In other YT clips, the Mesa didn't fare too well, but the Orange was still a favorite, and sounded a little more livelier and detailed than the below clip. In one comparison test between the V12 and V30, the Eminence sounded fuller and overall more appealing to my ear. However, ALL of the Eminence loaded cabs in the below clip were similar to the ones in my Diezel 2x12, and the V12 loaded Soldano wasn't that impressive, nor the one I saw in another YT shootout. So I guess you're right, I have to hear these speakers in a store myself, instead of a YT clip with some Metalhead playing a guitar tuned 1000 steps too low :18:

You are both wrong. There are many reasons to not use a Celestion, you are just being too snobbish to enquire what those reasons are.
I owned Scumbacks for two of my cabs. They are great, but unfortunately, I was not a fan of their breakup characteristics.Very Nice. I have a Tonespotter in my ISO cab. I like it but I wish it was available in 16ohm. I have been looking at the Private Jacks and the Wizards as alternatives. I like the sound of the Wizards with my Marshalls but it seems silly to put such an efficient speaker into an ISO cab...
I just have not liked the modern Celestions. I put Scumbacks into my new 2x12 cabs that replaced the vintage 4x12's I moved. Still early but I am pretty pleased with them so far. They cost but but not a lot more than the Celestion counterparts

You don't want help; you want to troll and I'm not about to help you do that. You are now on my ignore list, as well. Have a nice life!Maybe so, but reading comments like this (on the Youtube forum) doesn't help matters.
