Difference between neck and bridge balckouts ahb-1 pickups

Is the difference simply higher output to balance levels between the 2 pickups?

I've been looking for a white ahb-1 bridge but no luck so far. Thinking maybe a neck pickup on the bridge would be ok but concerned that it will be unbalanced with my ahb-1 in the neck.

The neck is alnico. It is fatter-sounding. Kinda like the EMG 81/85 set.

I don't think you'll have unbalanced pickups if you use an AHB-1N in the bridge with an AHB-1N in the neck at all. Just play with the pickup heights.

i had the neck AHB-1 paired with a emg in the neck for a while. i used a series resistance to bring down the blackouts output. the high loss is not as much a factor as with passives. so i guess you could do that to your neck if you don‘t want to use the poti to bring the volume down
