Differences about mid and high gain amps

I need an amplifier that'll do well high gain stuff, between early old school metal, to all sorts of thrash metal and some death metal too. i have now Blackstar HT-5 for home use, and SG guitar with Duncan Distortion at bridge, but i get excesive annoying background noise in more hi-gain levels..... however unvanted noises dissapear when i plug in Boss NS-2, but it eats tone too much and i don't like it, so i already think about those solutions:

1. ) To put active EMG's in one of my guitars to see noise changes.
2. ) Later maybe go try out Blackouts to see how better they are than EMG's.
3. ) Buy another less noisy Boost pedal ( currently i use Bad Monkey and it's noisy as ****.. )
4. ) Try out some other more hi gain amp with less noise.

So, the point 3. ) I boost HT-5 with Bad Monkey. it's really cool for vintage classic rock, bluesy stuff, when i use it on a clean chanell, and somewhere on a dirt channel too. but for hi gain... it's somehow noisy pedal and it change amp sounds it adds more brightnes of actual sound. what else to look for, to get better results ?

Here i am stock at point 4. ) I already want to buy some 30 to 50 watt valve guitar amp head to start out the band. so the question is which head to buy, that have somehow less ****ing noise at those hi gain settings and have enough gain to not boost it additionaly with any of boost pedals. I have look at Laney Ironheart 50, and Randall Diavlo 50 amps, even at Peavey 6505 and 5050 series what you think about those ? i could not afford Mesa, but i would like to know if those Boogie amps have built in noise gates and enough gain to not use any of pedals and if they have less noise at thrashy metal riffs gain zones ?

thanks for any suggestion, i really want to find the solution for those hi gain noisse issues .

Re: Differences about mid and high gain amps

I have an HT5 and play similar styles of music. What I did was put an EQ in the effects loop. It was a cool little amp before I did that but now it's a monster. Depending on how I set the EQ I can get any type of metal or hard rock sound that I want. I'm using an MXR 10 band and you can find them for a relatively reasonable price.

If I want even more "umph" I just turn on my TS9. Usually if I'm using it for more gain/rhythm I have the level at about 40% to 50% and the gain at about 10 or 11 o'clock. For a lead boost I just have the level at 100% and the gain all the way down. (Noisy!)

The combination of an OD in front and EQ pedal in the loop enables me to go from blues, southern rock, classic rock, to Lamb of God with ease. I hope that helps.

Re: Differences about mid and high gain amps

I have Boss GE7 EQ in the loop and it really improve the tone, and is less noisy than Monkey. but the problem is at higher volume levels it starts giving that background noises.. if i put volume on 12 o'clock and gain on 3'o clock, add a little boost with monkey and than little bost from EQ pedal it's cool. everything past 12 o'clock volume it starts squeling and wheeping... i think i am gonna try MXR EQ one day, to compare it to Boss EQ, and put some active EMG's in other guitar and see differences. till then i ll just keep experimenting with what i have now.
