I have an Alesis SR-16 that I bought years ago, and I've typically just practiced with the preset rhythms (which are pretty lousy overall). I've never felt like I had the hang of programming it, and didn't try hard. Well, I just came across this review of the SR-16 on Harmony Central, and the reviewer described my problem exactly... does anyone have an explanation for why this happens? Any input greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
