Hi -
So I have some local store credit which i need to spend. The problem is they only really carry digitech. So i was thinkng of getting the rp100a for just multi-effects, in particular autowah, delay, and pitch shifter. How is in terms of these effects? Don't really care for the distortion or amp models as my vox ad15 covers that, just looking to add more effects to my present setup.

thanks in advance,

jeff

the rp series is really good ,i don't remember the auto was how it was cauuse i never use it ,but the delay ,pitch shifter is really good,i was using it with the amp drive (send and return).besides that i belive that digitechs pitch shifter is the best.

I had a digitech I didn't like it at all. That was a few years ago maybe it has improved since then. For me personally I would look into getting the digitech chorus, phase, flange, ect pedals instead. But that is just me.

Im not a big fan of the Digitech stuff having been an owner for several years but the pitch, harmonizer, delay and reverbs in my old RP-7 we're ok. The pitch funtions in particular tracked extremely well for a unit of that calibre.

If you just want the effects you'll probably be ok, Im not fond of Digitechs amp models/voices/distortions or whatever that unit might have.

I have an RP80, and I think it's pretty terrible. I'd say just go single effects.

The DigiTech RP series is like their "beginner/intermediate" gear. Their GNX series multi-effect processors and their single stomp boxes are awesome. My real recomendation is that if you don't have a flanger but are looking for modulation, the Boss BF-3 is the ultimate. The DigiTech is good, but it doesn't compare. I have a few DigiTech stompboxes, and I like them all, but I think Boss effets are a little more refined. If the GNX series are more than you want to spend right now, and they don't have Boss, go for the DigiTech DigiDelay. That thing is a lot of fun to mess with.
