Digitech Screamin Blues Overdrive/Distortion

I have a Vox AD30VT as a practice amp and it's quite bassy and muddy so I'm thinking of trying this pedal as a tone shaping, boosting sort of deal with it seeing as how it seems to be quite bright. I used my buddy's Bad Monkey Overdrive pedal before and it was very good, but it still had some mud and it didn't just didn't sound as tight and clear as I would like. Is the SB is supposed to be like a brighter version of the BM? If anyone has experience with one of these any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a Screamin' Blues now. I wouldn't say it's a brighter version, but aa less gainy version. It sounds pretty good through my practice amp or in front of my Marshall, but for some reason it sounds like crackling turd through my DRRI, but then again, every OD I have tried so far (Digitechs, Boss, Monte Allums) have sounded horrible through the DRRI.

Is it kind of like a boss blues driver with a bass knob?

It is absolutely brighter than the Bad Monkey by miles. Too bright for my taste.

Too late, I already bought one online. Waiting for it to arrive. There dosent seem to be too many people here who use these pedals.

I held onto to it for maybe a year. Never really found a place for it to fit in, so I sold it.

Holy fook! The pedal just came in and it sounds PERFECT with my AD30VT. It cleans it up so nicely and makes the amp sound much clearer. Cuts down the woofy bass too. Exactly what I was looking for. It sounds even more tubey than before and the amp is a lot more versatile regarding the different amp models. Way more sounds available now, with clarity! Quite happy with this pedal. If you have a bassy, dark, woffy, other cliche kind of amp I highly recommend this pedal!

Re: Digitech Screamin Blues Overdrive/Distortion

Thanks for the suggestions! I have one. Just read this thread. I used mine as an overdrive to get blues tones when gigging for a while. I use a BBE Green Screamer on the pedal board now but I'm not letting go of the Screamin' Blues. I do have to keep the high EQ knob set fairly low most of the time. But with a moderate amount of gain and high end, a Strat type guitar has a lovely, bluesy ping through this pedal.
I've also found that a humbucker equippped guitar crunches nicely, yet cleans up well through the Screamin' Blues.
I'm sure there are a lot more cool tones to be found putting it in front of a slightly overdriven amp.
