Forbes said:I'd just talk to them, explain that by selling the classic 50 and not neccesarily shelling out anymore extra cash you would be able to get an amp that suits you more, give you more enjoyment, and probably encourgae you to play more, if its not costing them anything then i don't see how they would still say no.
Were you asking for additional funds or just to trade the amp? If you wanted some extra money to upgrade then i guess your only option is to work a few more hours.
Have you tried many pedals with your 50 by the way? A decent pedal pushing it could give you a much better OD, could be a low cost way to go.
Try to explain the situation in a context they would better understand like cars, what do they do for a living?Mephis said:Well, for 1, I don't have room for another amp. The classic HAS to go.
For 2, my parents wont let me sell the classic...
For 3, the cost of living is not cheap here, If I got a job making less than $7 an hour I couldn't afford to have a studio apartment and still get food. Ohh and I'm also still in school...
That's why I was hoping someone would tell me what to tell my parents to make them snap out of that mind set, without getting them mad and yelling at me.
