I forgot to mention, I did use an X2N for awhile. Not bad, but I wasn't blown away, either.

i based my main pickup off of the X2N.. X2N is probably my favorite pickup from DMZ i've tried them all.. yea it works great under gain but some of the cleans i get out of it are pretty nice too and put another point up for FRED those things are killer

And Duncans aren't the be all, end all of pickups . DiMarzios have their strong points as well, it all depends on what you're looking for.
