DiMarzio Super 3....any opinions?

Re: DiMarzio Super 3....any opinions?

it's got good definition, thick sound, cuts through real well in a mix, and great harmonics. try it, you'll love it.

I like it in a few of my guitars. Has a nice Tony Iommi middy sound in my Westone Thunder 1A and it give a warmer sound to my Peavey T-60 than the Parallel Axis Distortion model PA-TB2 that's been in there for a while.

it can probably be used with dark sounding guitars with a meg pot...especially becuase of the massive output, dc resistance, and chopped trebble it sounds like an awesome candidate for a meg pot. having full frequecy range and that much output in a paul would probably sound huge!

I may just do that. it will either be a super distorion or a super 3. Thing is don't plan on getting rid of my evo 2 because the time will come when i am in the mood for it again and i want to have one on hand when i want a warmer bridge sound and one for a brighter sound.

yes the super 3, if you wanted to put it in a dark guitar youd probably want to use it with a meg pot so it would brighten it up enough to work well with guitar, it would probably have more presence this way too

uUh i was meaning the pot not the pickup.
sorry if i sounded like a doofus.

Re: DiMarzio Super 3....any opinions?

i donno know if it matters what brand as long as its a meg pot and cancels less of the top end frequencies allowing it too have fullfrequency range and full push

Re: DiMarzio Super 3....any opinions?

Interesting, I was just staring at my Tele wondering what it would sound like with a Super 3 and set up as a Esquire. Hmmmmm...................................

Re: DiMarzio Super 3....any opinions?

i love teles, with a super 3 it would be pretty metal sounding though, with an esquire style and a 3 way switch you could set up the switch for series/split/parrallel and get a variety of sounds.
