I am very tempted to put one of these in the bridge of my Jackson Dinky but i thought i would stop by first and ask for opinions from anyone who owns or has had experience with this pup!!! Thanks!
Very fat, tight bass, dark highs, just like the description on the DiMarzio site. But, somehow harmonics really come out even though the highs are pretty dark. It's a good sounding pickup with very high output.
It's way, way more compressed and darker than the Super 3.
Did you mean SuperD here? (i.e. Super3 is way way more compressed and darker than SuperD)
Yep. Sorry for the typo. Sometimes my mind goes faster than my fingers.
Listen to any Def Leppard post-1994 (when the Super 3 was introduced). Phil Collen uses it in his Jacksons. It's a very fat and thick sound.
But is the definition good or does it just sound like mush?
I think it's good. If you have a bright guitar that needs some help filling things out and taming those highs, the Super3 will do the trick.
It should be a huge improvement over the EMG-HZ thats in there now so.......
