diminished chords

Re: diminished chords

i like the minor 7 b5 chord a lot as a passing chord on turnarounds
but thats only half diminished

Re: diminished chords

these don't get talked about a lot

anyone got a favorite?

Almost every song George Harrison wrote has a diminished chord in it somewhere.

I do a cover of a Freddie King/Don Nix tune called Same Old Blues. I've changed it a bit, but I use a Diminished 7th as the 4 chord and it sounds way cool in this tune.

Re: diminished chords

I like this ii chord instead of a regular min7b5 (here in a Cmin. ii V i prog ):
notes in the chord: D Ab C G followed by G B F B followed by a full Cmin7 chord.

what is it? an altered half dim?

Re: diminished chords

I'm a fan of the dim power chord myself. 7b5 is cool too. play it barred and throw the normal fifth up on the B as well...if you are doin root 6
