Discontinued Charvel San Dimas Candy Apple Red And Blue For $599

Re: Discontinued Charvel San Dimas Candy Apple Red And Blue For $599

I HATE Original Floyd Rose Trems! Aweful design.Thats what keeps me from buying a Charvel ( well, that and because i am broke).
If you try and palm mute with an OFR, your edge of your palm hits the fine tuners and knocks them out of tune.I HATE that!
Both my Jacksons have the Schaller JT-590..I think its a little better, but probably not much .
My favorite Floyd is the Takeuchi LoPro..the fine tuners are out of the way for aggressive palm mutes..i just need to put together a parts Jackson that can take advantage of this.

Never had those problems with any Floyd. Then again, my hands are fairly small

I'm always so confused about this.

Are these the US made reissues?

I don't think the US version has been made in a LONG time. There was the MIJ version for several years and now they're MIM.

Yes, they are made in Mexico now.

I've thought about replacing my Jackson DK2M with one of these. I like the Jackson, but the volume knob is so far forward that it gets in my way. Looks like it is in about the same location on the Charvels too though. I wish some local store carried them so I could try one first.

Saw this post after I pulled the trigger on a blue one. It's currently bouncing around in the back of a FedEx truck near my home.

I bought a blue one about a month or so ago. It plays and sounds like a dream, eventhough I can't stand a JB pickup, and looks even better than it plays or sounds. Be prepared to just stare at it for about an hour....lol.

This will be my third guitar with a JB Bridge Trembucker. Guess I should try something else.

I also picked up a red one when they were one sale, not super happy about the service though.

I got my guitar in two days from thise guys. But, that's kind of irrelevant to me. How do you like the guitar?

The guitar itself is awesome, I was just bummed because the switch was broken when it showed up. I had bought a hard Shell case as well, so it shipped in there. Once I got the switch fixed, it's fantastic. I was just bummed that it took a day or two to work properly for a brand new guitar is all.

They offered a return and swap, but I honestly didn't want to wait another week or so for it to go there way, and then back my way again. But not sure what calling would get me, I just went and had a place replace the whole damn switch. It honestly fell out when I turned the guitar upside down.

They make one with a hardtail bridge

Jolly, is your most recent one MIM? Im curious how the quality is on those?? I have a US Charvel and then one of the Japanese ones. Both are STELLAR. I remember Charvel and Kramer of old (80s) and they kept moving the outsourcing and the quality tanked and totally trashed the name... Im assuming the MIM are pretty good since the Fender group is well established there, but I just want to be sure as Ive not played one.

I bought one of these Mexican ones here in the past couple month. After having to change the switch, the guitar is fantastic. It plays effortlessly, and I didn't have to do anything to the setup to get it to sound good. I'm very pleased with mine
