distorted country leads...what amps?

Re: distorted country leads...what amps?

There is much truth in Moose's post. I have a friend who can play ANYTHING who gets very few studio gigs. He's in constant demand for the road, though. He's out with Kenny Loggins as I type this. He's toured with numerous country, Christian, and rock acts. He's currently using a Bad Cat. Previous amps (in recent years) were Gerlitz and Vox AC30.

Producers and record company execs are a strange lot.

Nah... its that Nashville really IS a good 'ol boys town. The inner circle is very much that. And Nashville is FILLED with talent. The guy waiting your table at dinner is likely a scary chops-meister!

I'll bet your friend gets called for demo gigs, but never for record dates.

I have a bass player friend down there who's really really good... scary good. But he's doing songwriting demos, independent records & jingles... and owns a million dollar studio that also does demos & indie records to pay the bills.

If he picked up, and rooted himself down in say Nebraska or wherever he'd be the king of the area...

But he's got access to all the great talent... with a phone call you could book Jerry Douglass or Brent to come in & blow down takes. And they'll do 3-4 takes and that's it... thats all they need.

Nothing short of amazing. But down there its just another day at the office...
