Even though it's too late now, auto parts stores generally have the finer grades of sandpaper you were looking for. Your guitar looks great by the way.

Main thing is your happy with the result and therefor have a new love for your guitar.
Btw, better than just good results can be had from a rattle can. It IS mostly in the sanding before during and after.

It can but with a air compressor and gun you can do a way better job. Controlling the amounts of thinners is most important, Also wetting in final coats with saturated mixes helps level out the clear. Not to mention the cost and ease of getting better paints and more variety

No question...... I totally agree.
It's just that available space and cost of that set up isn't for every one. I would so love to have a real paint booth. My point was just doing the best with what you got, and some pretty sweet results can be had if you are patient.

I love it. It reminds me of a 80's Gibson Sonex but Fender if that makes sense.
