I'm about to order a Distortion neck pickup for my new Ibanez RG 1570 :laugh2: . I am thinking of putting it in myself. I haven't done anything of the sort before. It seems simple and My Dad has good soldering experience and he can help me with that end. Whta I'm wondering about is the neck and the floating tremolo (Edge Pro). I was reading the owners manual and it said taking all the strings off, at once, could effect the intonation. Should I pay a professional to do put the pup in or should is it not that big of a deal. I don't have any familiarity with floating tremolos though the owner's manual appears very detailed. I'd appreciate any advice. THANKS!

Well, I'd try adjusting the intonation, action, springs, etc. on the trem so you can see if the instructions work out or not. If they do, then go ahead and install the pickup in yourself. Seeing as how your dad has good soldering experience, he should be able to help you out. If the instructions turn out to be worthless, and you can't figure out how to do it yourself, then take it to a pro.
