do casters kill tone?

Re: do casters kill tone?

To me it just sounds illogical. I guess it's what you prefer the cab to sound like. I guess the person who said this likes the on-the-floor sound.

I like to roll it in and then roll it onto it's side. then everybody who's watching me has to crane their neck to the side to read the name on my amp, which is funny to watch.

I'm just kidding I never play any gigs :(

I've wondered why more makers don't put casters on the side of cabs or combos. seems practical to me. Roll the thing on it's side and then tip it right side up when setting it up.

Re: do casters kill tone?

Well wouldn't the floor, since it's the floor and it isn't moving (or shouldn't be, unless you got drunk during the gig lol), dampen some frequencies and enhance others? I would think it would dampen everything except bass, which it would seem to enhance, but I could be wrong. Anyways, for what it's worth, maybe this person who made the comment prefers the on-the-floor sound. Me, I get good tone already (in my opinion), so I prefer not to have to do the "remove casters" ordeal.
