do guitars have mojo?

Re: do guitars have mojo?

I won't upset Dave by using the "M" word but I think that some guitars "speak" to you on a personal level however I think that just because I have a guitar that speaks to me doesn't mean that it will speak to you...it might but it might not...

Re: do guitars have mojo?

A guitar's only a tool. What is does or doesn't do all comes from the fingers & head of the guy playing it. It can sound terrible with one guy, and great with the next. It's the fingers that have the mojo.

We get caught up in this, talking about equipment on this forum all day, but it's the player that brings it all to life. That's where the magic is. We play better on some guitar guitars than others, which is really more an indication of our limitations (not being able to play as well on more guitars). It would be nice if we could quantify this, and bring it all down to gear. But life doesn't work that way. This isn't something you can duplicate in a lab. A guitar is nothing without a player.

Ah, that's perhaps the best way to describe it (and still not get people upset:9:)

Yeah, substitute the "M" word with *speaks to you* in my earlier post and you've got it ;)

:laugh2:

I am sure it was due to parent company issues with Hamer, but I like our speculations much better.

Hamer had been bought out and had moved the shop when Grover came in at Washburn you nailed it!! That set up at Washburn only lasted from 92-97 when Grover bolted but what they put out in those years was absolutley incredable. I worked for a Hamer dealer back in 88-89 and think these USA Chicago Custom Shop Washburns are at the least the = of that era's USA Hamers. I love these things as I "only" own 9 of um!!
