Re: Do I need to rebias my Marshall when putting in fresh tubes?

You don't HAVE to. But it is a good idea. If ya want to get the best possible sound outta your amp, and the Best life outta your tubes, then Yeah biasing is a good idea.

That said, Its not gonna Kill your amp immediately if ya don't bias it. But the tubes could run really hot, or cause your transformer to run hot, Createing un-needed stress on the tubes, and other components in your amp. So it is generally a good idea to have the amp rebiased when replaceing tubes (even from the same manufacturer).
The only exception I'm aware of is if your useing tubes that are matched very closely to the same tolerance of the previous set of tubes (provided the amp was biased correctly when the tubes were last replaced). Such as the rateing system Groove tubes uses.

Although I do know plenty of people who NEVER rebias they're amps, and haven't known many of them to ever have much problem with doing it that way.

So basically..Short answer....If you want your amp to Sound the best, Get good life outta your tubes, and Not create unneeded stress on the amp. Then YES you should get it rebiased.
