Lets pop the hood on a bunch of new cars, and upon only seeing the plastic vanity cover you tell me the number of cylinders, number of spark plugs, number of cams and valves, type of ignition and fuel system, etc.
Or are you bad at looking at stuff and thinking about stuff?
If you aren't familiar with something you aren't familiar with something. Doesn't make you bad at looking and thinking.

I think we may be a bit too close to the topic to be open minded...
Ive had customers who thought minis were full humbuckers and that firebirds were covered strats... confusing teles with strats happens from time to time.
So I totally understand pup confusion (cream colored p90 and jms look quite a bit alike compared to firebird and strat).
Thats why I enjoy my job...if they knew, id have less work
