Kewl. Thanks. Will most-likely just do that. Wonder what the split-coil sounds from the Hot Rails are like...

I got one in my strat, and it's only split on position 4 and used in series with the middle pickup, and IMO, it splits suprisingly well. Great twang and definition on the lower strings, but gets a bit thin and scratch on the high strings, which is why I think it works better in pos. 4 than it does by itself.

I hate all pickguards!
I rip them off and stomp on them!
And if I have to have one on there it sure wouldn't be tortoise shell :argh:

Mattt, that Hohner looks like it could be alright. I'd have to see better pics, and preferably in person. But it definitely looks better than a guitar made out of Tortoise shell! :earl:

Is that like a 5 ply pickguard?! That looks really thick, like it sticks off the guitar alot!

Yeah, that was a test photo with the tortoise pg placed on top of the stock white one. I was trying to see how it would look before installing it.

Gotta get round to putting some SD's in her... but the brass coloured rhythm pickup is not so easy to replace (i wanted a hum cancelling pup).

I think it's just a Tele neck pup? Shouldn't be too hard to find something gnarly to drop in there...

IMHO tort guards can look awesome and crappy - it depends on what guitar color and type they are used as someone said before.
I got an acoustic with tort guard and I just can't imagine it with any other kind of guard.

I like them on black bodies and on vintage white bodies, just a great look!

I like tortoise on off-white and burst Fender style guitars.
