Sorry to say it was one of the worst overdrives i've ever used, sterile, bright(very bright), just not worth the money

I read a little about this - here's a point to consider: I think Malmsteen uses it with old Marshall's (non-Master Volumes? 68 to 72 or so?) He uses it with all the Marshall knobs on 10, I believe. In that context, it seems to sound pretty well. What are you hookoing it to?

Let's not forget that YJM would sound righteous playing my Yamaha Pacifica through my Peavey Studio Pro...

My understanding that the thing is pretty much a DOD old overdrive - closer to an MXR micro amp than an overdrive. Might be great for a kick in the tubes, which seemsto be what YJM would be doing with the Marshalls.

Exactly...a pre-amp..used to boost the signal to get more gain out of the amp itself.. For that purpose they work great..especially on a Non MV type head.
