by that you mean what, the ms2? the ms4? or a lead 12 model 3005 head and two 1x10 cabs?
Tube, solid-state, or hybrid?
I had a solid state Marshall Lead 30 combo from that era as well as a Marshall Guvnor pedal. They had the exact same sound as the mini stack. The studio where we recorded had a mini stack and if plugged into a 4x12 they just as big as any other head but at a much more manageable volume. If you put a tube screamer in front of one they cover about 90% of rock/metal tones no problem. Billy Gibbons was reported to have used one into a 1x12 with a Celestion 100 watt speaker. People give them crap for being SS but they delivered the Mashall sound regardless.

Around the studio that head was a great problem solver. The space was really small and people couldn't get their gigging amps to sound any good without without deafening people. But we could plug that mini head into anything and get a solid tone without much work. That little head is killer
ive not owned a ms4, but ive played through one a few times. ive owned a ms2 and i liked it better. they are both pretty much toys, but they are fun
I always wanted the fridge
I used to have a Marshall Micro Stack that came with 2 1×10 cabs and a solid state head.
It was fun lil amp, but what was more fun was the horny teenage love letter I found stuffed in the back of one of the cabs.
