Does anyone know the size/type of screws for a top mount Floyd nut?

Bought 2 new Floyds from the turtle place and they only came w/ rear mount screws. I need the top mount screws. Cheapest I can find them is $4 for 2 screws + shipping. Somehow, I'm pretty sure I can find them a lot cheaper at a hardware store.

The ones I've seen are custom. They have a fat unthreaded section coming off the phillips head to occupy the entire diameter of the hole. I've used various hardware screws where at least the screw head sits snugly in the countersink. You want to minimize movement when locked and diving. An undersized screw, no matter how hard it's screwed down, can rock back and forth.

Well *#$%. I'm going to call and complain to Floyd and/or Warmoth. I really don't think I should have to spend $12 on 4 screws when I bought the units brand new. If it were used, it'd be a different story, but that much for screws that should have came with the unit is ridiculous.

The screw is countersunk and needs a fluted head... Allparts and Stewmac don't even cary them.

WD Music does though and they're purty darned cheap for such a specialized and tiny screw.

Hmmm, I've got a brand new Floyd Rose nut that came with both top and bottom screws.

The Schaller Floyd I got came with both. I used the back-mount screws, and if I still had the top mount screws I'd just send them to you because $12 is ridiculous. Places will always say "Free shipping on orders over...!" when it really needs to be "Free shipping for items UNDER the cost of shipping!" Paying more for shipping than the actual product is BS.

I would just search around the house/garage, bring the nut with you to a hardware store looking for screws and just try anything you think may work.
