Does Changing Pickup Covers Harm the Pickups?

I want to change the pickup covers.

I've used a cleaner product. It blemished the covers annoyingly. Now I want to change the covers.

1) Does it blemish uncovered state of pickups? (Maybe in future I'll use them as uncovered.)

2) Does it harm the pickups?

Pickup covers can be changed, and shouldn't harm anything if done correctly.

Well, I'd measure your pickups' pole spacing, as some cheaper ones might not line up. So you need the specs on what you have, as well as what you are going to buy. As far as a sonic difference, it is unlikely the cheap ones will be the same material as more expensive versions. How they affect the sound is anyone's guess, though- there will be a small sonic difference vs uncovered pickups no matter what you get.

Yes. The cheap ones are most probably nickel-plated BRASS covers, which actually kill the highs.
