The strat is alright on price
Personally, I never buy new if I can help it to get the better price.
Reverb.com is really nice for gear hunting. I'm like addicted to that site.
I found a red strat with a maple neck for cheaper there, like the one linked. Difference is the headstock is a more modern Fender type. Don't know if that makes a difference to you

The colors on those two guitars would be AWESOME in hand. It's hard to see how gorgeous they are from that picture.
