so ya the guitar tech guy always refers to them as the jeff beck pickup. r they named after him even tho i dont think he uses em. thanks for answering a dumb question

Beck used those pickups when he was arguably playing his best stuff and had his best tone, on the Blow by Blow and (I believe) Truth albums. Cause We've Ended as Lovers is a great example from that "oxblood Les Paul" era.
Of course now he is playing Strats and being paid by Fender (man is notoriously cheap) so this is no longer his setup.

you guys can do a search on the forum as this has been discussed several times...Jeff Beck has the first ever JB/Jazz set in his Tele Gib which Seymour built for him...it was used all over Blow by Blow and other records that came after it and is still used today in the studio.

But seriously, I was pretty sure it stands for either Jazz/Blues or Jazzy/Bluesy; one of the two. All the bloody techs call the JB "the Jeff Beck" and when I found out what it stood for it started to annoy me when techs said it lol.
