I think it's every kids dream starting out on guitar to want the loudest amp available.

I remember when all I wanted was a 100w Marshall Fullstack... not one of those puny 50w's ...

I find it funny how Crate has a 300w all tube Blue Voodoo ...

Even 50-60w is overkill.

With todays PA systems I could probably get away with using one of my Fender Mini Amps

on the contrary, the bass is almost always pinned down to keep the mud at bay, with the treble at around 7 and mids at 8. Either my hearing perception has changed or the amp is getting muddier. could it be the new Svetlanas?

naa, your poweramp isnt being opened up enough - try decreasing the gain and increasing the volume slightly? and play a bit harder. i have my DSL 40 set like this for home practicing:

bass:4
mids: 8
treble 5

gain: 3
OD channel volume: 10
Master volume to taste

no mud, and i can go whisper quiet :burnout:
