Well, there is no way I can afford one right now but what is everyone experience with these amps. The first time I heard a clip of this amp was about 2 years ago and I always go back and look at them. Whats everyones experience with this amp. To be quite honest with you, this is the best amp I have ever heard(from clips).

Re: DR Z Carmen Ghia

Dr. Z makes great amps all around. I personally have a 2x10 Maz Jr Reverb and am thinking of getting a Route 66 to take its place since I'm more into a Marshally sound these days.

I've had very very limited Ghia experience personally. If memory serves correctly it is a Hammond Organ amp with some guitar tweaks. A big thing is the conjunctive filter for the tone stack.

The thing about Zs is that they retain each guitar's uniqueness and don't really mask anything. That's why I like them, and my wife gives them her seal of approval! lol

I've used to my Maz Jr. for jazz gigs with my epiphone joe pass model. It's got a good sound on it and gets really fat sounding. I don't think it sounds as good as my super reverb for jazz, but it does a great job.

I like the look of that amp too. DR Z has tons of options but anything really over 25watts is useless to me.

Re: DR Z Carmen Ghia

I have a MAZ 38 2x12" combo. As a home player, the amp is too much. I've been considering a Carmen Ghia, myself. I like simple amps, and the MAZ series amps have a few too many knobs on them in my opinion.

Re: DR Z Carmen Ghia

I either like simple amps or modular amps. As much as I love the bassman its too much and too loud. This amp is like perfect for me but I am on a college buget of like 100-200 bucks.....
