Dream Charvel

BloodRose

Professional Scapegoat
Well, after years of being a gear sl-t and changing guitars like others change their undies, I have finally figured out what guitars really trip my trigger. I love Les Pauls for the ease of play and of course love my Explorer for ease of play and awesome looks. But, Ironically the guitars that seem to fit me the best are Charvels. I said ironically in the last sentence because back in the 80s when I really was more of a fan than a player, ( really hasnt changed much) I always LOVED the look of the Charvels and Kramers and really gravitated to the Charvel players.
And after all these years, Ive discovered that I also love quilt and flame tops. (prefer quilt tho). Anyhow, I have found a Charvel on ebay thats a limited run, that REALLY makes me salivate, and dare I say it, almost gets me aroused. haha Too bad its way out of my league price wise, but I wanted to share it.
I friggin LOVE this guitar!!

Re: Dream Charvel

I hear ya. I have a thing for bolt necks and floyds, not really what most people play in my style of preference, but I just can't escape what suits me.

If you trade the red one for a fancy top I'll have a hissy fit over here. That red charvel is one of my favorites.

Re: Dream Charvel

Bloodrose have you ever considered a wayne chatvel custom? Wish i scored one of the xmas specials.

Oh no, the red one goes NO where!!! Unless its an emergency and I have to support my family.. but not for another piece of gear.

Ive considered them, but they are sooo pricey! Everyone Ive seen has been $3500 or more. Seems like most of them have been over 4k. for that price, Id prolly go with a Suhr

Re: Dream Charvel

I dunno if I could bring myself to pay that much if I had it. But SURE is tempting.. trying to think what all I could sell OTHER than my charvels.. haha

Re: Dream Charvel

Nice, it's very similar to the Musikraft project I'm working on now, expect mine will have a red dye finish.

Re: Dream Charvel

I personally cannot wait until the new Charvel Jake E. Lee model hits the market.
And me hopes they make a lefty version. But they prob wont, so I'll have to just build another one, but a more accurate representation than my last build, which I built to my specs, but with the look of Jake's Whitey, and his Charvel Holdsworths all wrapped up into one guitar.
Kinda funny that I'm hoping to get a Charvel Jake, because it's nothing more than a copy of a copy anyways.

Re: Dream Charvel

Eh? You do know how charvel came to be right?

Yeah, Im ever so slightly versed in the story.. There was a meeting of the the Gods of sound, speed and awesomeness and they said we should make an awesome guitar.... And it was so.....

Since Ive never laid hands on a Wayne, I was curious if the neck shapes are the same as the Charvels and all.. Im sure the build quality is stellar.

Well Wayne charvel started charvel guitars so of course they are going to be awesome.

Re: Dream Charvel

I know Bro! Im sure they are awesome. I just wonder if the neck feels the same shape wise etc. I love the Charvel necks. Jacksons are a tad too wide for me. Same with the Charvel model 6 cuz its the same as a soloist.. Matter of fact, my Japanese So Cal is darn near perfect. I had a Japanese San Dimas and I would assume the neck woulda been the same, but it was chunkier. My USA Charvel is a tiny bit wider than the So Cal. So, I wonder if the Wayne would play like a Charvel or Jackson or?? Thats all. No doubt its good

Re: Dream Charvel

Isnt that just a modern FENDER using a bought out nameplate? Looks like a flamed EVH with tripled price tag

Clarification: not a seller scam, just a Fender acquisition of the brand...which from what I hear has sh!t-all in common with the good old originals

They ARE charvel...wayne charvel.

While "FMIC Charvel" = just a fender. Supposedly more like an american standard than a custom shop, despite what they say (and what they charge)

Re: Dream Charvel

^^ No. Since FMIC took over Charvel, the Charvel superstrats produced are more like the original San Dimas Charvels than any since 1986. Any Fender Strat neck is nothing like the feel and playability of a Charvel neck. Plus a Charvel can legally have the proper strat head this way. Its been a good thing.
