Re: Dream Guitar

i knew they where expensive but damn $5400 MSRP.. id rather get a one off from a small shop builder if i gotta spend crazy money

Yeah, its really expensive...but SOOOOO awesome! Has a roasted neck for sure and I think one of his also has a roasted body as well?

I could see doing it through Musikraft as they offer both roasted body and necks...unfortunately Warmoth doesn't do roasted bodies (I've asked a couple of times.)

EDIT: According to this listing it has a roasted basswood body.

Ibanez Artstar AM153... GORGEOUS!!

Definitely what I'd go for if I bought new. If I could find an early '80s AM-205, I'd get that, but the prices for the original ones are getting higher these days. I have an AM-93 now, and one of the above models would be nice to go with it.

Re: Dream Guitar

I would love an EXP from LEF Guitars. Mahogany with curly maple veneer, 5 piece mahogany and flame maple neck and ebony board. The back in natural and the top in purple dye. Also the back of the neck in satin black except for the two flame pieces, those natural. TOM bridge, tusq nut, grover locking tuners, black hardware, and of course the Seymour Duncan Mayhem set. :headbang:

Agreed. I have an '05 Artcore AS-83 now which has become my #1 because it plays so nice...

Re: Dream Guitar

Every time this question is asked my answer never changes. I would love an original Gretsch High Roller.

Re: Dream Guitar

I think a PRS SC245 is probably at the top of my list now.

And also, Marty Friedman rocked a sick Jackson Kelly during his recent USA tour. It's not one of his old models... this one has a LP style bridge and two humbuckers, I think it's an EMG 57/66 set.

Gorgeous guitar. I want one!

Is it me, or is the cutaway deeper on that too?? Looks like a dude rockin an Epi in the background!

thing that came to mind after seeing that guitar was .. "OMG" i definitely want

Yeah, my thoughts too! Stunning!! The hand built Stinnett he already has is sick too!!

i knew they where expensive but damn $5400 MSRP.. id rather get a one off from a small shop builder if i gotta spend crazy money

Yeah, msrp is nuts! I think they street for about $3700. still a pile o cash..

Re: Dream Guitar

Nice, been looking at the Chesapeake Severn model, I've played them on a couple occasions and found them to be really well built, nice action and stunningly beautiful.

Never looked at the other Knagg's guitars before. Just checked out the Severn. Those are nice!! The cut away edging on the body kinda looks like what they are doing on Kiesel (sp?) guitars. Ill definately explore the Knaggs site more when Im not at work.. Although it could be dangerous. I think I was wrong in my first post. I think the orig Steve Stevens came with pink binding.. Not my first choice, but the guitar is so cool.

Here is the guitar:

well i took 20% off the top to better reflect street value and was like 4320.. 3700 equates to 68.52% of MSRP..or 31.48% off.. only reason I used 20% because I thought it was a good rule of thumb to determine approx. street cost

man thats still alot for a guitar.. Im sure its nice and all but damn.. I have an idea for a custom guitar but no money atm to even think about it:( ohh it would be sweet!!!!

Re: Dream Guitar

Close seconds included a Crossley, a custom Dean Caddy, and a few others. However - did you really have to ask?

Re: Dream Guitar

I have many of the "dream guitars" I've envisioned. The ones I don't have don't really trip my trigger anymore.

About the only thing that currently gives me GAS is a red Strandberg OS 6. Gonna check 'em out at NAMM and suspect I'll snag a trem model.

Re: Dream Guitar

Hey, don't you already have one? What's this?

Well, I still GAS HARD for one, but on the other hand, my current no.1 is a custom Stinnett SS6 so, can't complain! :D

I have a copy. The languedocs run 10gs and thats waaaaaaay out of my price range for an axe lol. The one i have is from Equator Instruments and its a killer guitar no doubt. I was lucky enough to get one of the first ones he was building before prices got expensive.

Re: Dream Guitar

Custom shop archtop Soloist with Duncans, a Floyd, and whichever trem lock works on floating rigs.
