Dream Guitars?

Re: Dream Guitars?

Compared to the body, it looks like it's at least 27'.

A 27 foot scale length ?? Some of you younger guys are really taking this downtuned thing beyond the extremes, no ? Where are you buying 27+ foot long guitar strings from ?

Re: Dream Guitars?

I really want a hamer Monaco elite in tobacco burst with les paul controls instead of the two volume, one tone thing. ill eventually get one and replaced the tone with a stacked pot so I can have independent control but id still rather have it the other way.

My dream guitars.
1) Trussart Custom
2) ESP Custom
3) ESP Custom
I'm sure I'd tweak the specs a bit on these but basically these are my 3 main dream guitars.

Always wanted the USA made VMNT.

I was watching MTV News one day in the Summer of '96 and they were doing a segment on Cheap Trick. Rick Nielsen had one of these and I thought it was one of the coolest guitars I'd ever seen.

This Suhr...just because ;)

And this, because it's lightweight compared to a LP, and it sounds incredible.

Those are some pretty sweet axes, how are the EBMM Tonally compared to a les paul?

Words are cheap, let your fingers do the talking

Re: Dream Guitars?

I'm not massively into guitars, amps moreso but I'd love to have these:

Dream guitar

Yeah man. Have at it and build yourself a dream guitar. Always wanted "Dream Explorer" so around 1998 I bought a late '70s' early 80s Mighty Mite body that had been finish stripped, binding and all, but MAN what a top on that one piece Mahogany body it had. So I spent the next 5 or so years gathering the parts and a neck. Scored a Hamer USA Daytona Maple on Maple neck with original Sperzel tuners, special Double Cream pickups and accompanying Cream parts, Dimarzio bridge from way back then, and a sweet wiring kit from RS Guitarworks. Gave it to one of Tampa Bay's best guitar builders, Ben Chafin, and told him to work on it as he could as I knew how busy he was with all his irons in the fire all the time. It took two years or so but this was the end result.

I can't speak for all their models, but from the demos I've seen of the Reflex, they're a little more articulate, a tad less chunky but still pretty aggressive sounding, and the cleans are better in my opinion. The chambering probably has a little to do with it being not as chunky as a LP. Brad Whitford loves them.

Re: Dream Guitars?

A Mr. Horsepower and the Marshall stack guitar. It probably says something that the only guitars I've wanted for a while now are both associated with Spinal Tap. :D

Re: Dream Guitars?

I'm pretty close. I chose the body for this with a trem rout, because it was available quickly and at a good price. Would have rather had a tune-o-matic on it... It plays great and sounds awesome, though.

Digging older LP's lately, too.

Re: Dream Guitars?

My dream guitar is definitely a thinline telecaster in seafoam green.

Something along the lines of the guitar on top. (Just a picture I found online, not belonging to me at all)

I also probably need a real les Paul in my arsenal. I mean... I've been playing HH Strats for a long time and realising it just doesn't cut it the way I want it to.

Re: Dream Guitars?

I got to say, I'm loving Strandbergs

Other then that, a double bound tele with an ash-tray. mmmmmm.

Re: Dream Guitars?

I have a 55 piece collection. My 19 G&L Legacys, Comanches, and S-500s--and a ASAT Deluxe--are my dream guitars. I have nine fabulous Martin acoustics, and eleven terrific Les Pauls. The Historics are by far my favorite Pauls. The three ES-335's I have are just beautiful, versatile guitars that work so well for many different kinds of music.

But still, even as blessed and as fortunate as I've been, there are some more guitars I lust for: a Warren Haynes Signature 335, a VOS '62 Reissue SG, a Martin D-45 to name just a few. I'm also looking to build at strat-bodied 12-string from Warmoth parts one of these days.

It's my only vice--I love guitars, and I don't spend my money on hot cars, fishing gear, a boat, skiing, gambling, cigarettes or bimbos. I don't travel the world--walking into my music room IS a vacation!

But the G.A.S. never ends!

Bill

+1 Bill. I have 30...... but I think I am pretty much done. although I have been jonsing for a really nice maple Guild 12 string, but I have a 12 in the shop now having some work done on it. I should have it in a few weeks. 19 Electrics & 11 acoustics. AND of course pedals and amps :)
