The key I find when using these type pedals is first, dial in a good clean tone & use the pedals on the clean channel. Then just let the pedal do the work.

There's no real dirty channel on the amp. There's Normal and Vibrato, Vibrato being the one usually plugged into when you're in a diming mood...
Also....another vote for the Boss Overdrive. For some reason mine hates Tubescreamers.

I meant that in general terms, not necessarily on the DRRI.....some guys throw a distortion pedal on a 2 ch. amp, set it for max distortion on the dirty channel & then can't figure out why their $200.00 pedal makes their $1000.00 amp sound like A$$!!!
BTW I love the avatar!!! Do you have those signs....and where'd ya' gettem????
Skarekrough said:I've always found it hysterical when folks go amp shopping and they bring a ton of pedals with them. To me it's like bringing a strap with you to go guitar shopping. Man, if the amp doesn't sound good without the pedal then odds are it aint' gonna make it much better with it....
Skarekrough said:A buddy of mine online saw the street sign and took a picture of it for me. He wouldn't tell me where it was....like, even the state. He knew if I knew it would be gone by the next morning.
PUCKBOY99 said:AMEN! I even like playing a guitar unplugged at first to see how it responds before plugging in.....
hahaha.....I'm actually surprised it still exists!
I took a picture of myself a few years back while travelling out west. Driving thru Arizona, I stopped at the sign that says "Welcome To Winslow"....so I took a pic of myself "Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona".
If I can drum it up, I'll scan it & use it as my avatar!
Oh & Lew............you & Bruce are just amp bada$$es !!! :13:
Lewguitar said:I rarely use my humbucker guitars through my Deluxe Reverbs...they just overdrive those little amps to easily and it's hard to get a clear enough sound for rythym.
Dave said:Even the vintage output Hums like the 59 and seth lovers? I always thought drive was associated with the DC resistance. These 2 humbuckers are close to some vintage tele pickup and a bit hotter than the vintage strat singles.
What's the deal, or am I misunderstanding pickup specs?
Thanks,
