Will parallel mode only work in the middle position, or all 3 positions?

I think I'm just going to take it to a tech to set this up. Every diagram that I've been able to find doesn't match up at all with the way the Wolfgang is wired. Plus, Peavey seems to have wired the Wolfgang in some strange way, and I'm completely confused about it.

parallel only works with two of something

cant be in parallel alone

so series/parallel would only apply to the middle position

But, I thought the 2 coils of 1 humbucker could be in parallel or series?
