dudes who use pods and garageband....

good evening brethren,
im not the recording specialist of the band, but i do my scratch tracks on garageband using the internal sounds, like "metal". im borrowing a pod until i get a UX2 from my friend. my problemo is, there is something im missing in using pod with gband. i cant seem to find a flat or dry setting so i can use dirt from pod. my comp is like 5 years old, so id imagine that version of gband is just as old. i know its something so simple and im just not catching it. anybody know what could be the problem just by my verbal diarrhear? thanks doodz.

Re: dudes who use pods and garageband....

When you create the new track, do so as a mic/voice track. When you choose guitar, it has all the amps and effects and such going.

At least thats what I think you mean.

Otherwise you're talking about exactly why I ditched garageband- it colors everything. Every thing you put on there sounds darker, at the very least. Its weird.

reaper is free for 30 days so you could try that

then record the pod just as a DI signal, and reamp it with non-line6. thats what I do. I ditched my line 6 after it blew up and they would not let me have the key to the software that came with the line 6 toneport.

I think that's what I was lookin for, I'll try it out tomorrow. And i def hear what you're saying about the darkness from gband.

Re: dudes who use pods and garageband....

Reaper is awesome. And technically free overall. They don't disable your copy once the 60 days pass or anything. You could technically go forever without buying it. Not that I'm advocating doing so, but...totally possible.

Thankz ex, is that what you use primarily? I remember hearing a track you made, it sounded nice, was way more sufficient than what I'm looking to do.
