Dumb question: JB neck

If a Distortion, with an A5 is a JB, then a Distortion neck with an A5 should be a JB neck . . . right?

I think the original JB neck was the Jazz, right?

I think it might be interesting though. Maybe using the DDn V as a bridge pickup would work well.

The "JB Neck" per se is the Jazz model.

But I understand what you´re getting at.. if there were a JB neck, would it be wound the same way as the DD neck w/ an a5...

It occured to me since I have an A4 mag coming from Lew to try out in my 59. Which will leave me an A5 to play with. Thought I might pop it in there to see how it goes.

I have had a DDn and a JB in the neck of the same guitar. They sound pretty much the same to me.. FAT FAT FAT

Thats good to know. What I like about the DDn is, its the only 'bucker in the Duncan line at 12k. Its kinda special.

I feel that the DDn is very special and over looked way too often! It sounds great as it is but, I would love to try one with an A5 magnet in it!

I've always wondered about the JB in the neck - but have been kind of frightened. But after reading the "Why do we hate the JB" thread I can see how it would be cool in the neck. However, it might still be a bit hot- but that DD conversion sounds like a great idea! And I would like to see a couple of 10 to 12K pups. There just isn't much in that in-between region if you want something for a middle on a three HB or a hot-but-not-scorching neck pup.

This is more an "experiment of circumstance", than a need.
But, a Screamin' Demon is another pup on my "to-do" list.
