Duncan 4 conductor wiring

The wiring i do with my pups is green & bare to ground, red & white together & black is hot.

The black wire is so tiny, how does the pup get such a big sound with such a small gauge hot lead ?

And are all the pickups coil windings tied to just the black wire ?

Re: Duncan 4 conductor wiring

the black wire is way bigger than the coil wire. the green wire is connected to the start of one coil, the red is connected to the finish of that coil. black and white for the other coil. the current present is very small so the hookup wire size is fairly inconsequential

Re: Duncan 4 conductor wiring

The gauge of the wire is determined by how much current it carries. The voltage determines the type and thickness of the insulation. A typical humbucker would only be carrying about a millionth of an amp.
