I have a strat with a floyd rose trem in it. It came with a Dimarzio hum which I didnt like at all. It sounded too "nasal" and midrange. I then went to a Full Shred in both Humbucker slots. The Full Shred "neck" was perfect as its res peak is around 8. That made it brighter and sounded more like a single coil when split. It also corrected the "too much bass fuzz sound" in the neck humbucker. However I didnt like the Full Shred "bridge" humbucker becouse its res peak is in the 5's and it sounds a little muted. I then went to a George Lynch Screamin Demon but it turned out to be too bright for my guitar. I think its res peak is around 7.
I finally picked up the Duncan Custom tb5 and it was perfect. Its res peak is around 6 and it has a pronounced midrange that just pushes my amp in a great way. The bass is tight but not over the top and the highs are defined. It also splits well with the other humbucker. It has that nice strat quak tone in position 4 and position 3 with both humbuckers on full it has a cool Zepplyn type tone like on "the Ocean"
This pickup really works well with my Floyd Rose equiped strat. Kudos to Seymour for this design!
