my friend has a Jackson guitar, it's a dinky shape, it's not new it's a few years old, and the pickups just say "Seymour Duncan" on them, she says the guitar cost about $600...are these real SD's or just duncan designed...?

Re: duncan designed

real duncans. duncan designed say "Duncan Designed" on the bobbins rather than "Seymour Duncan"

Re: duncan designed

thanx...one more question..would u guys have any idea of what ones in particular. i would assume something like a JB bridge and a Jass neck or something like that but idk

Re: duncan designed

Easiest way- Slacken the strings (if it has a Floyd Rose, unlock and slacken. You might have to unlock at the saddles as well), unscrew each of the 4 pickup mounting ring screws and lift the pickup. If the wire doesn't allow you to raise it up completely, use a flashlight and a small mirror to see what the small white sticker on the underside of it says. All SD pickups will have the model name/number on the underside of the pickup.

Re: duncan designed

it's not my guitar, it's a friends guitar i wa just interested in the pickups becuase i played it through my amp and the distortion was much mor trebley and crisp in comparison to my EMG HZ H4's. i am thinking about replacing the bridge w/ either a DD a Dimebucker, or EMG 81 and the neck with a EMG 85(id i get the EMG 81), a Jazz, or a 59, but i know that mustaine uses a JB so thats y i was wondering baout the pickup model
