So much stuff going on there (pornagrafiti tone).

I'd say just take a jb, full shred, or pegasus and then make adjustments at the boosters and/or amps.
Can't be much off with any of those, or the alt-8.
Carvin m22sd is also very close to that.,,,,,,,and the current wylde becky version of the BL.

It's the one most people say is the closest to the original design. I haven't had one myself so only going off other's opinions.
Doubt there's a huge difference between the alnico versions but of course the dimebucker is ceramic powered.

How much different is the Wylde version of the L-500XL?

They are close, but I prefer the B&B version. That being said, neither is my favorite humbucker.

Also worth mentioning is that while the two most notable users (Dime and Nuno) commonly used both versions, their main guitars had the B&B version.

Nuno used a Bill/Becky L500L mainly and Id say a Custom 5 would get ya close.
My Mom said the JB and Distortion are not the same wind.

I could never tell what model Nuno used exactly (I don't even know if Nuno knows), just that his "main" N4 has a B&B.

Hell, I am not even sure what model 500 I just dropped in my N4. I guess I should have measured it.

The L500L’s are generally 11-12k and the XL are 14.5k+
Most N4’s I knew of had the L500L

I had some free time tonight, so I tried a few pickup swaps in my N24 with some spares I have.

Custom A8 - hard to describe in words, but I didn't like it. Too much something in the upper frequencies. I forgot I had put an A8 in this until after I took it out of the guitar. I may try the original ceramic mag, or even an A2 or A5.

JB - didn't like this at all. The notorious high mid spike was unbearable in this guitar.

Dimarzio Norton - similar to what I was hearing with the Custom A8, but more hifi sounding. Actually, this was the least worst of the 3, but I still think I can find something better.

I began dismantling the Distortion to try a mag swap. Then I noticed I'd need different spacers to accommodate the thinner magnets.

I do have a few other pickups I may try. It's just frustrating unstringing the guitar each time. I have a Sounds of Sin Wolfgang pickup. It's about 11k and I believe A2. I also have a 59 neck pickup.

Tonight I tried the Custom with an unoriented A5 and an A2. The A2 is giving me exactly what I was searching for. Nice bite and clarity without being piercing. There's also a warmth to it that matches perfectly with the clarity.

Now to decide if I want to stay with the Jazz in the neck, or try the 59 I have.
