duncan distortion

had a set of duncan distortions i put in an sg standard, didn't care for them so switched back to original, anyway thinking of putting the set in my strat, rosewood fretboard, 1 volume no tone 3 way switch, i know they will be good for metal, but howabout classic rock also. any one tried this set up?

I know a well repected guitar tech who swears by the DD in his Strat. Says it's the only pickup that will give Les Paul type distorted crunch in a Strat. I tried in my fat-strat though, and while It did crunch nicely when distorted, I couldn't get any other type of sound out of it - way too ice-picky. I guess it depends on what your needs are and how much versatility you want. I would give it a tone pot because it will be bright - but it CAN make you strat into a mean barre chord machine.

Oh yea - not sure how it will do classic, I used it for more modern tones, but I think there was a traditional Seymour Duncan vibe going on. If there's no expense I would just try it.

I hate the DD in 24.75" guitars, but it's AWESOME in strats and similar guitars. It's my bridge HB of choice for those types of guitars.

I tried a distortion in the bridge of an SG; but I took it out.
I threw a Dimebucker in there and it was like a whole different guitar! You might want to try that one in there.
