In my strat, I found the BBQ to sound fizzy and thin. For rock tones I say either the JB or a 59 in the bridge.
why waste your time?

LOL, BBQ is one of the thickest, smoothest, most full and widest sounding pickups on the planet. I find it twice as fat as the JB.![]()
Yes, in my Les Paul it was very fat. In my strat though, I found it to be very fizzy. And yes, I had it wired correctly.
I bounce between the BBQ and the Duncan Custom in my Les Paul. The Custom just has that fat mid range grind that I really love.
JB or Blackbelt 2 or Evolution or PG tb....good in Fat strat.
Singles hard to say unless you say what style of music this will be used for and which amp do you have?
The Custom sounds thin compared to the BBQ.
I actually find just the opposite in my Les Paul. The Custom sounds much fuller, with a much better mid range growl.
Left Hand Strat, why are you such a dork?
Yep in the end the Chopper, while nice, had me wanting a full humbucker. I ended up getting a JB and STK 7 pickups to make this a killer fat strat. I ordered an SH-16 hybrid bridge and Jazz neck for my PRS SE.
I am getting ready to try the custom in my LP i hope this is correct![]()
How did it work out?
