Duncan JB or Rio Grande BBQ for Fat Strat?

In my strat, I found the BBQ to sound fizzy and thin. For rock tones I say either the JB or a 59 in the bridge.

LOL, BBQ is one of the thickest, smoothest, most full and widest sounding pickups on the planet. I find it twice as fat as the JB. :)

If you have nothing constructive to add, why waste your time?

Yes, in my Les Paul it was very fat. In my strat though, I found it to be very fizzy. And yes, I had it wired correctly.

Very true bro! It goes to show how pickups sound so different with different guitars. I prefer the Rio BBQ in a mahogany set neck axe. I use Duncans and Dimarzio in my bolt ons. :)
The BBQ is maybe the best pickup I have found or my tastes in a Les Paul or SG, next to the Gibson HB-L

I bounce between the BBQ and the Duncan Custom in my Les Paul. The Custom just has that fat mid range grind that I really love.

The Custom sounds thin compared to the BBQ.

JB or Blackbelt 2 or Evolution or PG tb....good in Fat strat.

Singles hard to say unless you say what style of music this will be used for and which amp do you have?

Rio BBQ should be a little wider, fatter and warmer than any of those in an alder strat.

Yep in the end the Chopper, while nice, had me wanting a full humbucker. I ended up getting a JB and STK 7 pickups to make this a killer fat strat. I ordered an SH-16 hybrid bridge and Jazz neck for my PRS SE.

I think those bridge pups in those guitars will be good choices - check your inbox too.
