Re: Duncan return policy and music123?
I'm Alex Semple, and I manage export sales at Seymour Duncan/Basslines. I just wanted to take a moment to clarify our returns policy with regard to international customers. If you purchase a Seymour Duncan product from a USA retailer and have it shipped to a foreign country, the retailer in the US is then responsible for servicing the product in accordance with their sales policy. Most dealers should be willing to take back and replace a defective product, and some may even honor an exchange. However, some may not be willing to do either, which is their right. Consumers must confirm this with the American retailer before ordering. If the US retailer is not willing to take back the product for any reason, please do not assume that Seymour Duncan will. Freight and duties can make international returns to the US costly. This is why we have international distributors. While not all of our distributors honor the 21 Day Exchange Policy, they are required to provide after-sales service for defective items that are under warranty for items purchased in their respective markets. In short, before purchasing a Seymour Duncan product from an American retailer, please inquire about their policy on returns, both defect replacements and exchanges. After your purchase, please contact the retailer directly if you have issues of any kind with the product(s).
As for the pricing of our items in export markets, there is nothing I can do directly to influence that. Distributors should be aware that without a healthy stock of our pickups and competitive pricing, they are only tempting their customers to shop outside their territories either online or by crossing borders. This leads to transshipping issues and the woes suffered by consumers who jump at a lower price or faster delivery without first considering any possible negative transnational after-sales service issues.
Thank you.
