Duncan SM-1 Orientation to strings

931ACA5C-02F9-4D59-A91F-867865FA7738.jpgHi could any one tell me which end of this Duncan SM-1 pickup should be under the bass strings and which end under the treble. I have a picture attached I’ve labeled X or Y. Or does it even matter? Thanks

Won't make any difference tonally, as the 2 coils are identical.

If the cover is solid with no markings then it won't make any difference visually.

The only thing that might sway you is having the hookup wire routed directly into the access hole.

Thanks. It’s has the SD logo on the front plate. Which is exactly the same turned upside down. I’ll just go for placing it the easiest way to run the wire then. Thanks again

I tend to place them so that the leads are under the bass strings, bit that's just due to the way my guitars are routed.
