Duncan VS Duncan for 70's Hard Rock (Les Paul build content)

Re: Duncan VS Duncan for 70's Hard Rock (Les Paul build content)

Its all about being patient and keep looking. Last christmas, i found a 2009 white gibson les paul custom in mint condition. Some old guy bought it cuz he wanted to learn how to play and ended up never touching it. I snagged it for $2000. So i basically got a brand new LP custom for half price.

Thanks Bill...much appreciated.

There is a CUSTOM i have my eyes on.
Yup, trust little 'ol me to go from pocket-freindly Studio to a 1977 (2nd hand) wine red CUSTOM.

Problem is, the store has had that guitar on their web site for over 18 months now.
They want $2700.00 for it. The two pics they have of the guitar makes it seem to be in very good ( A, or even A+ ) cond.
But if an A+ Custom is not selling for $2700.00 . . . i am asking myself . . . WHY NOT ?

What does the other muso's see in that guitar that keeps it from going out the door ?
I checked eVilleBay, and $2700.00 is a fair asking price. It is also my 2nd FAV LP colour.
The only one that i like more is a Plain Top R8. :32:

DO IT! Every time I see a Wine Red LP Custom, I tell myself I will either build myself one or buy one eventually in my lifetime.

Boogie, its a 77 so it will have T-tops in it.

Norlins are great for rock/hard rock. They could be heavy, they might not. There's certainly an extra focus to the tone with a big lump of wood. By 77 the pancake body was on its way out, the modern serial number system was on the way in and necks are maple.
I have a maple necked Deluxe from 80.....there is an extra zing you get from having it, so be ready to look for smoother pickups if you get that one.
I have a 76, there is a noticeable added bite from the maple neck.
